Why .guide is a high-intent extension

Most new extensions ask the audience to learn a suffix. .guide does not. The word is already in the query: hiking guide, style guide, buyer’s guide, implementation guide. The TLD finishes a sentence people are already typing.

That is the SEO point, stated carefully. A domain is not a ranking factor you can buy your way through. What it does is earn the click and the memory. A result that reads sdl.guide looks like a reference. A coined .com next to it looks like a company. Both can rank. Only one of them explains itself in the URL.

The extension also disciplines the product. It is a strong fit for a city orientation: where to stay in Scottsdale, how to enter the preserve, which street in Old Town. It is a poor fit for a checkout-first store that never mentions the place.

SDL is not a coined prefix. It is the airport code for Scottsdale. “Guide” alone is a dictionary word nobody can hold. The code makes it a city. Together they are short, speakable, and already local.
